Alumasc Rainwater – Powering Growth out of Recession

The latest economic recession has forced many companies to re-adapt their operating procedures over recent years and Alumasc Rainwater has been no exception.

Just beneath the macro level of global recession, where most successful businesses operate, there’s arguably no recession at all. This has been a good thing for companies where export driven growth is an option, but some products, such as Alumasc’s Cast Aluminium and Cast Iron rainwater goods, do not lend themselves so well to export.

Senior management at Alumasc have tackled this challenge by taking a more lateral approach. Looking at things from their customers’ perspective, they decided to introduce a single, highly demanding KPI to drive a Lean Manufacturing programme – this KPI being “On Time In Full” (OTIF) delivery.
